Barcelona has taken Scottsdale by storm.
Innovative cuisine paired with excellent entertainment, indoor and outdoor bars and dining, a brand new sushi hot spot called Sutra Sushi, a great dance floor, as well as its unparalleled ambiance makes Barcelona one of the hottest nightspots as well as one of the finest dining spots in the Valley of the Sun. The ambience at Barcelona changes depending on the time of day. At 4pm, it is a happening happy hour hot spot. During the dinner hour, it is a premier steakhouse with great live entertainment. Later in the evening, it turns into an L.A.-style nightclub where plenty of celebrities and famous athletes come to unwind.
When you walk up to Barcelona, scented smoke wafts on gentle breezes and the tempting odor of meats and vegetables sizzling over a pecan wood-fired grill on the patio greets you. The experience gets even better when you sit down to order your meal. A shining star on the menu is the prime filet, so tender you can cut it with a spoon. Another signature dish is a unique rendition of a Spanish classic called Paella: a Spanish rice dish loaded with lobster, andouille sausage, chicken, shrimp, mussels, and fresh vegetables. The menu creations of Executive Chef Brian Williams are daring and pair unusual textures with savory flavors in remarkable presentations.
Bon Appétit Magazine has approached Barcelona several times to get recipes at readers’ requests. Every year, Barcelona is invited to participate in The Best of the West, the final event of the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. Only 11 Arizona chefs are asked to participate in this premier event. When you walk into the entryway at Barcelona, take a moment to look at the wall of fame: it’s covered with all a plethora of awards the restaurant has won over the years.
